Whitewater Region

Whitewater Region is a picturesque and historic municipality in Renfrew County boasting natural beauty, small-town charm, and community spirit.

As part of a broader effort to strengthen its identity and launch a redesigned website, the municipality sought to update its brand and creative direction and engaged Syntax with the goal of creating a modern visual identity that remained true to the area’s assets.

Following engagement with the local council to understand their objectives and their perspective on life in Whitewater Region, our team recognized the importance of community input. We developed and managed public consultations that included an online survey inviting residents to vote on which of three logo designs they preferred, an inclusive approach that ensured community ownership of the final brand. Once the new logo was selected, Syntax created a complete visual identity and brand guidelines, along with supporting materials such as letterhead and business cards.

Whitewater Region’s new visual identity was brought to life throughout the community with a series of branded signs designed by the Syntax team, including town signs, wayfinding, building signage, and park signs.

The new modern, community-endorsed brand celebrates Whitewater Region’s landscape, history, and sense of belonging, uniting its villages and towns under one cohesive visual identity.
