The Town of Petawawa is a dynamic community on the doorstep of the world-renowned Algonquin Park. Seeking to modernize its visual identity and better reflect its natural character and evolving story, Petawawa engaged Syntax to lead a full rebranding initiative. The goal was to create a refreshed, cohesive brand that would strengthen local pride while positioning Petawawa as a vibrant, forward-looking destination for residents, visitors, and investors.
To understand how people saw present-day Petawawa and what they envisioned for its future, Syntax launched an in-depth discovery phase that engaged community members, municipal leaders, and local businesses and incorporated thorough research and a comparative analysis of peer municipalities. A clear story soon emerged: Petawawa is a growing community rooted in natural beauty, strength, and connection.
The Syntax team developed a refreshed visual identity for Petawawa that features a new logo, contemporary typography, and a bold colour palette designed to reflect both the rugged natural landscape and the town’s momentum for growth. To bring the brand to life across the community, we redesigned Petawawa’s wayfinding and signage plans, resulting in a cohesive, modern aesthetic that unifies the town’s spaces and enhances the visitor experience.
Our work formed a timeless and flexible identity that now captures Petawawa’s welcoming, community-driven spirit and its vision for continued growth and opportunity.
